BCFED rally

The LFA is able to send four delegates to the BCFED convention, in Vancouver.  Along with other FPSE locals, delegates listened to a wide range of labour news from around the province.  

On Wednesday,  Noel Currie participated in a rally in support of workers out on strike, and those in collective bargaining around B.C. 

Job action at VCC

There will be a one-day withdrawal of CUPE support staff services within the VCC Library on Wednesday, Nov. 28 and a one day withdrawal within the food services area on Thursday, Nov. 29

CUPE 4627 has advised the college that there will be no full withdrawal of services during the week of Nov. 26 or the week of Dec. 3.

 

CUPE support workers strike Nov. 20

CUPE organizers expect 3,000 members to walk off the job provincewide on Tuesday from Camosun, Vancouver Island University, College of New Caledonia, College of the Rockies and North Island College. 
Organizers say they are leaving the door open for the BC government to stop stalling and settle with the 3,000 CUPE support workers who have been without a contract for 2 ½ years .
