UVIC and PEA reach tentative agreement

Update Oct. 11, 1:30 p.m.

Negotiators with the Professional Employees Association (PEA) and the University of Victoria have reached a tentative agreement on a new two-year contract.
The deal includes an across-the-board wage increase for PEA members of 2 per cent retroactive to July 1, 2012 and a further 2 per cent on July 1, 2013.
The agreement is now subject to ratification by both parties over the coming weeks.

General Meeting September 14, 2012

A general membership meeting was held on Friday Sept. 14th.  LFA President, Lynn Carter updated those present about discussions held recently with other FPSE locals at the Presidents' Council meeting. 

This bargaining round, FPSE locals will be bargaining locally and each plans to open as they and their members become ready. The timing will vary across the province.

New Minister of Advanced Education

The new Minister of Advanced Education, Innovation and Technology and Minister Responsible for Multiculturalism is the Honourable John Yap, MLA for Richmond-Steveston.
